·         Dental checkups
Brushing and flossing is not enough but regular dental checkups are also important once in a year or as recommended by dentist who will monitor the dental health at dental clinic Mississauga and take necessary actions on time. Plaque is hard to remove at once so regular visit at dentist is needed.

·         Change in lifestyle
Bad habits like smoking, tobacco, drugs are responsible for developing  gum disease and make the treatment difficult. The chances of gum disease increased if you have diabetes or cancer. Stress also worsens the disease because it weakens the immunity system of our body which makes it more difficult to fight with the bacteria. A genetic factor also causes gum disease.
